Welcoming boutique hotel Castle Inn in Ortahisar, Cappadocia
To experience living in a cave had always been our dream. And then we found this stylish cave in Castle Inn in Ortahisar and it became our temporary home while we were exploring Cappadocia in Turkey.
Let us tell you more about the charming place …
When it is possible, we like to get off the beaten path in most places we travel to – and that is why we chose Ortahisar as our base for exploring Cappadocia. The town is a pleasantly quiet small town with a pretty square and a nice castle, restaurants and shops, and it’s a good alternative to nearby bigger and touristy Goreme.
The boutique hotel Castle Inn is situated in a quiet centre of Ortahisar and it has a beautiful view of the castle.
Castle Inn has five rooms and each of them features its own character and all are tastefully decorated. We stayed in a cave room and the experience was truly unique.
Well, let’s talk now about our cave room! So, what was so amazing about our it? Nicely furnished, decorated with lots of stylish details and equipped with everything we needed, it was just a perfect place to get some rest after hours of trekking in the nearby valleys. How wonderful it was to have a bath and relax in a jacuzzi every evening! The bed was so comfortable that it was very hard to leave it in the morning.
We were visiting Cappadocia at the beginning of spring (the end of March / the beginning of April), so some evenings were still quite cold, but we never felt cold in our cave room thanks to the perfectly adjusted heating system in the room and in the bathroom.
We appreciated that wi-fi was working fast, so we could get work done in the evenings.
The buffet style breakfast was served in a nice dining room and when the weather allowed it we had the breakfast on the terrace.
The breakfast itself consisted of fresh fruits (apples, bananas, kiwis and oranges), fresh vegetables, bread, home made marmalade, olives, cheese, coffee, tea and juice. It was always a good start for our adventures in the exceptional part of the world. And last but not least – the breakfast has no end time so you can sleep in as long as you like.
We enjoyed our stay in Castle Inn very much. A big thank you to Suat, the owner of Castle Inn who hosted us and made us feel comfortable in his pleasant hotel Castle Inn.
